SUMMARY:


The Senior Systems Engineer must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, or a technical field (or 10 years of directly related Surface Combatant experience as a substitute) and have at least 8 years of recent experience with Surface Combatant Weapons Systems. This role requires proven expertise in strategic planning, design, engineering, installation, activation, and integration of complex land-based test/training systems and modernization efforts.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Review and process Ship Change Documents (SCDs) to ensure alignment with system requirements and engineering baselines for SSDS.
• Coordinate with Technical Data Packages (TDPs) to identify integration requirements for Link equipment, Voice Radio Systems, and C2P.
• Conduct system audits to verify compliance, readiness, and adherence to engineering and configuration standards.
• Develop and update technical design drawings using AutoCAD to support engineering changes and system modifications.
• Analyze Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and compare system baselines to identify discrepancies and support integration efforts.
• Define and validate requirements for simulated systems and components, ensuring compatibility with test configurations and operational objectives.
• Facilitate cross-functional coordination between engineering teams, program leads, and integration personnel to ensure accurate system implementation.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate problems and project status.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, assign tasking, and work in a team environment.

• Other duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE:

 

• Bachelor’s from an accredited college or university in engineering, scientific, business, or technical discipline and 8 years of recent Surface Combatant Weapons System experience OR 10 years of Surface Combatant-related Surface Combatant experience can substitute for bachelor’s degree.
• Must have a DOD Secret security clearance.

TRAVEL:


May require some travel.

 

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:


DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:


Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
