SUMMARY:

 

The Systems Engineer shall perform detailed calculations and develop drawings for construction, installation, and operational standards, specifications, and designs for electrical systems, naval computing and display systems, and or power systems. The Systems Engineer shall demonstrate expertise with Weapon Systems and Combat Systems-level engineering, site infrastructure, distributed architecture, automated tools and tests, virtualization, computing hardware and cloud services necessary to integrate warfighter shipboard systems into various Land Based Test and Training Sites (LBTTS). Activation of these shipboard systems are essential to support Element Test, System Test, Certification and Training in land-based environments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engineer shall design, develop, test and analyze electrical systems and components to ensure as-built product meets specifications, codes and safety standards.
• Engineer shall be able to calculate and maintain load analysis sheets, repair proposals, End of Life (EOL) procedures, mechanical drawings, and maintenance guides.
• Oversee and coordinate projects working across departmental lines of authority, assign tasks to group members, review work for correctness, resolve conflicts, and provide reports and proposals.
• Possess the ability to install, configure, test and maintain shipboard tactical and tactical equivalent equipment in test and training labs.
• Possess the ability to install, perform check out procedures, troubleshoot and maintain equipment aligned with US Navy Baseline Computer Programs.
• Manage task analysis for development work that may involve unconventional procedures and may be required to develop solutions without precedents.

 

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:


Education and Experience:


• Must have a DOD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain.
• B.S. in engineering, scientific, business, or technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of recent Surface Combatant Weapons System experience (5 years of Surface Combatant related experience can substitute for a Bachelor’s degree).
• The Systems Engineer should have experience with Interface Connection Drawings (ICDs), Cable Block Diagrams (CBDs), Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Diagrams, and Cable Run Sheets.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Microsoft VISIO, and Microsoft Office.
• Ideal candidate will demonstrate a sound understanding of engineering science and possess strong math and computer skills.
• The Systems Engineer should have knowledge of Computer Baseline Programs and associated lab equipment.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:


Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTO are required. May require occasional travel.
