Overview

The Email Administrator shall be responsible for installation, maintenance and support of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's MS Exchange environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Ability to install, maintain and support MS Exchange 2016.
  • Ability to install, maintain and support Exchange in a high availability solution deployed to achieve low RPO and RTO's.
  • Proficiency in Windows PowerShell and specifically those commands needed to maintain MS Exchange 2016.
  • Strong understanding in TCP/IP, DNS and other network services and their relationships to the Exchange environment.
  • Provide Microsoft Windows Server operating system support including monitoring server performance and availability within compliance to Service Level Agreements.
  • Address operational systems issues including file and share permissions, user accounts and installing applications.
  • Promote server and application patch management processes.
  • Monitor server load and implement load balancing.
  • Exchange Engineer will maintain production schedules and provide maintenance of OS and Exchange during maintenance hours as define by the customer.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Must maintain a current Microsoft 365 Certification: Messaging Administrator Associate

Preferred:

 

  • 5 years of experience administering Microsoft Exchange, BlackBerry Enterprise Server, and domain administration functions.
  • 2 years of experience with Microsoft Exchange 2016.
  • 2 years of experience with Microsoft Server 2012 and newer.
  • 5 years of experience with Active Directory.
  • 2 years of experience in a high availability-messaging environment.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

 

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
