SUMMARY:

 

The Human Resources Specialist serves as a technical advisor for the Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) in the management and administration of all aspects of the INSCOM Military and Civilian Honorary Awards programs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

 

  • In-depth knowledge of Army and Civilian Honorary awards and applicable Army regulations.
  • Serves as a technical advisor for the Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) in the management and administration of all aspects of the INSCOM Military and Civilian Honorary Awards programs.
  • Plans and coordinates formulation of INSCOM policies and procedures for the Military Awards Program and the INSCOM Command Awards Program.
  • Manages the INSCOM Military and Civilian Honorary Awards programs.
  • Reviews recommendations for awards and determines proper processing procedures based upon technical sufficiency.
  • Prepares all documentation associates with approved awards.
  • Provides policy and guidance go INSCOM units in the management of their programs.
  • Reviews and studies proposed revisions to basic regulations governing these programs.
  • Maintains statistical data; manages databases and utilizes HR automated tools and systems.
  • Authenticates all military permanent orders in accordance with Army Regulations.
  • Includes but is not limited to organizational orders and individual Temporary Duty orders.
  • Composes letters of commendation/appreciation and condolence for command group release.
  • Establishes liaison and coordinates with U.S. army Human Resources Command; Army G-1 and Army -2 to reconcile issues and resolve problems.
  • Informs INSCOM chain of command, other staff proponents and subordinate commands on military and civilian honorary awards programs, policies and procedures.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • U.S. citizen and possess a Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI clearance with T5.
    Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of commensurate experience.
  • Three years’ supporting high-OPTEMPO, multifaceted organizations.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Must have excellent proof reading/attention to detail skills.
  • Have data base entry abilities (updating existing databases.
  • Have the ability to interpret regulatory guidance.
  • Proficient in Customer Service Skills (responding to inquiries/subordinates/command group and higher-level command).
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with keyboarding skills.
  • Proficient with a broad range of Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 13 products.
  • Knowledge of office machines in order to print, scan and fax documents.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

 

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. May be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Must have or be eligible for security clearances. May require occasional travel.
